摘　　要：首先回顾了现代小波编码的发展历程,以嵌入式零树小波编码(EZW)算法和分层树中的集分割(SPIHT)编码算法为例,对其基础理论和基本思路进行了深入阐述,介绍了该领域的一些新的应用和研究成果,并分析指出了小波图像编码算法进一步改进的研究方向。The development of modern wavelet coding is briefly reviewed at first in this paper.Its fundaments,EZW(Em-bedded Zero-tree Wavelet Coding)and SPIHT(Set Partitioning in Hierarchical Trees)algorithms are in troduced in details.Then,new applications and research results in this area are presented.The directions of fu ture improvements are proposed at last.[
