摘　　要：图书馆事业是一种产业 ,但图书馆具有公益性、文化性和社会教育功能 ,图书馆的文献信息资源主要集中于公共性、基础性、学术性领域 ,因而其不能实行“产业化” ;否则不仅会从根本上改变图书馆的性质和发展方向 ,实际上取消图书馆的存在 ,而且会增加经济和社会发展的总成本 ,降低社会整体效益。产业化论反映出中国社会人文意识的严重缺失和图书馆理论研究中的浮躁心态。Library profession belongs to the industry, but library has public welfare, culture and social education function. The documentary information resources of library are centralized in public, basic and academic nature fields, so industrialization cannot be put into practice. Otherwise not only will the character and development direction of library be changed essentially, and its existence be cancelled actually, but also the general cost of economy and social development will be increased and social total benefit will be decreased. The Industrialization theory has reflected the serious lack of human consciousness in Chinese society and the impetuous psychology in the research of library theory.
