摘　　要：身为高级官员的阮元长期代表清政府在广东处理“夷务” ,直接地接触了西方文化 ,再加上阮元务实的政治风格 ,求真的学习态度 ,使他曾积极主动地去了解西学 ,从而对西方有了较为全面和清醒的认识。其中 ,包括对西方的社会政治制度、宗教与政治关系、西方科技的发展水平、鸦片贸易的实质 ,以及中西文化、贸易的冲突会不会引发全面战争等一系列重大问题都有正面分析。Being a high ranking officer, Ruan Yuan dealt with 'foreign affairs' on behalf of the Qing dynasty government for a long time, he had been learning western culture intuitionally and diligently with his practical style and earnest learning attitude. As a result, he had a good command of the knowledge of the West and thus could understand the western countries clearly and comprehensively, such as the western social political system, the relation between religion and politics, the developing level of western science and technology, the essence of the opium war, whether the conflict between the Chinese and western cultures and trade would cause a full-scale war. The study of Ruan Yuan's knowledge of the West is not only an important part of the study of Ruan Yuan, but also of great significance to the further study of Chinese intellectuals' attitude towards learning from the West before the opium war.
