摘　　要：近代上海是一个中外势力汇聚的地方,近代上海报刊的创办及其运作同样渗透着中外不同的政治势力,这其间既有来自国内不同政治派别的势力,更有来自不同国家的势力.众多势力的合力使得近代上海报刊的所有权、人员构成、消息来源、资金来源都显得扑朔迷离.本文以<商报>为个案,通过对<商报>的创办模式、<商报>构成人员同国内外各种势力的联系及各种势力对<商报>的争夺和利用,揭示出上海报业文化的跨国性.Modern Shanghai was a place where foreign and native forces interacted and exercised a mixed influence.The running of newspapersalso reflected this state of affairs.Itwas on one hand affected by native influences from different domestic political parties,and the influences from a number of foreign countries on the other.The combined influences from different sources made itrather diffi- cultfor people to getan insightful understanding aboutthe ownership,staff composition,origins of news and funding of newspapers of this time.This article takes the case of The Commercial as an example,by analyzing its organizing pattern and the connection of itsstaff members with native and foreign forces and these forces' contending for its manipulation and utilization,brings to light the transnational nature of the press culture of this period in Shanghai
