摘 要: 就外界磁场对偏振无关隔离器隔离度的影响作了实验研究,观察到一定强度的外界磁场可引起偏振无关隔离器最大隔离度对应的波长发生偏移。在目前实验条件下,测得32mT的磁场可引起18.36nm波长的变化,对应的最大隔离度指标劣化14dB。因此在使用隔离器时应尽量避免外界磁场对其性能的影响。另一方面,利用这一现象,也可以通过外界磁场来改变或移动隔离器的最佳工作波长,提高其在特定波长处的隔离度,为隔离器的应用增强了灵活性。The influence of the external magnetic field on the performance of polarization independent isolators (PIIs) has been investigated experimentally. It was observed that a certain magnetic field can cause a shift of the center wavelength which corresponds to the maximum isolation of a PII. In the present experiment, it was measured that an external magnetic field of 32mT can make the center wavelength of a 1550nm commercial PII shift 18.36nm, which corresponds to a 14dB isolation deterioration for the PII at original center wavelength. The results show that the influence of the external magnetic filed on PIIs should be cautiously avoided in their applications. On the other hand, one can utilize this effect to design a wavelengthtunable PII. We demonstrated the changing of the optimum center wavelength of commercial 1550nm and 1060nm PIIs by adjusting the external magnetic field, and which may provide more flexibility in the design and application of PII.
