英藏清军镇压早期太平天国地图考释  

An Investigation of the Maps Now in Britain Used by the Qing Troops for the Suppression of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom in Its Early Period

摘　　要：英国国家档案馆藏有多幅清军镇压早期太平天国原始地图。其中五幅为清军围攻永安州的军事地图 ,一幅为长沙攻守形势地图。结合文献记载 ,各图的绘制时间大致可以考定。在 1 851年永安北路清军驻兵总数、“古束”地名写法、长沙兵勇壕坑的实际走向等问题上 ,这些地图可订正目前流行的一些看法。Several original maps used by the Qing (Manchu) military units in their campaigns against the troops of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom are held in the British Public Record Office. Of these, five are military maps of the Qing troops siege of the seat of Yongan Prefecture; one depicts the offense and defense situation of Changsha. The dates the maps were drawn can be approximately determined with reference to other literature. This helps correct some prevalent views, such as the total number of garrison troops in the Yongan Northern Route, the exact Chinese characters of a place called “Gushu” and the actual orientation of trenches dug by the Qing troops at Changsha.
