Objective:Studying6-minite walk test incorporating cardiac contractility change trend and heart rate change trend measurements and its clinical applications.Methods:25patients with cardiovascular diseases and25subjects without cardiovascular diseases were included this study.Signals of cardiac cycle and cardiac contractility were si-multaneously collected and recorded before and immediately after6-minite walk test. The total distance during6-minite walk test also recorded. The increase of the amplitude of the first heart sound after6-minite walk test, with respect to the amplitude of the first heart sound recorded at rest was defined as cardiac contractility change trend(CCCT(6')).Results:It was found that there was a very significant difference between the two sets of data of walking distance, cardiac contractility change trend, and heart rate change trend. Conclusion:The results show that the method of6-minite walk test incorporating cardiac contractility change trend and heart rate change trend measurements can be used for evaluating cardiac function, with the advantages of being noninvasive, safe, convenient, inexpensive, rapid, simple, objective, repeatable, and able to be performed at the bedside,in the outpatient department.
