In order to explore influence and significance of modified “Two Immortals Decoction' on atrial specific granules in the rats with experimental cerebral ischemia, acute incomplete cerebral ischemia models were established by clipping bilateral common carotid arteries for two hours in the middle and old-aged Wistar rats. Before modeling, the experimental rats were given liquid medicine of this formula and were killed at 6 th hour, 24 th hour, 3 rd day and 7 th day respectively after perfusion of blood flow, to take out the right atrial appendages for ultra-thin sections for morphometric determination by electron microscope. The results showed that ASG obviously decreased in the group with 6h and 24h reperfusion than in the control group, and there was only a little release in the experimental group. The results of the morphometric determination and statistics showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and control group in Vv, N A, Nv and ? of ASG. Conclusion: “Two Immortals Decoction” can remarkably decrease the release and consumption of ASG in the myocardial fibers of the right atrial appendages in the rats with acute incomplete cerebral ischemia.
