摘　　要：武士道犹如一把锋利的双刃剑。它充满了追求幸福安宁、强烈的使命感、责任感、刻苦、勤劳等美德,更集中了嗜杀成性、穷兵黜武、血腥残暴等凶虐;既是日本现代化的底蕴和原动,更是日本法西斯军国主义的沃土和源泉;既表现出日本民族的活力,更反映出日本民族的痼疾。更为世人注意的是,这两种对立的文化传统,无论过去还是现在,在日本历史舞台上都得到了淋漓尽致的表演和发挥。Bushido is like a double-edged sword. It is not only embodied with a duty for happiness and peace, responsibility, and the virtue of working hard and industrially, but also with a sense of engagement in military ventures and fierce fighting. It is the detail and vigor of the Japanese modernization and the source of fas-cistic militarism. It shows the vitality of the Japanese nation and its illness as well. What is more, the two op-posed cultural traditions have been demonstrating and playing their roles in history to the great extent, not only in the past but also at present.
