EFFECTS OF TEMPERATURE AND PHOTOPERIOD ON THE CARBOHYDRATE LEVELS OF THE FAT BODY AND HEMOLYMPH IN PUPAE OF OAK SILKWORM, ANTHERAEA PERNYI

摘  要:本文研究了柞蚕Antheraea pernyti滞育蛹和非滞育蛹的糖类含量动态。两类柞蚕蛹血淋巴中所含糖类均为海藻糖和葡萄糖,但葡萄糖始终处于极低水平。滞育蛹的脂肪体糖原与血淋巴海藻糖之间存在相互转化的关系,这种转化受温度的制约。温度对于滞育的终止和海藻糖积累量影响很大。在保种温度范围内,滞育蛹接触低温越早,温度越低,海藻糖积累量越高。非滞育蛹即使经长期低温(0℃左右)处理,体内也不积累海藻糖,且耐寒力显著低于滞育蛹。在25℃条件下,光周期对滞育蛹和非滞育蛹的影响不同。Carbohydrate levels of the fat body and hemolymph of diapausing and non-diapausing pupae of the oak silkworm Antheraea pernyi were determined with thin-layer chromatography and colorimetric analysis. Both trehalose and glucose were found to be present in the hemolymph of diapausing and non-diapausing pupae, although glucose was maintained at very low levels throughout the pupal stages. A temperature-dependent interconversion between fat body-glycogen and hemolymph trehalose was demonstrated in the diapausing pupae. Diapause development and accumulation of trehalose were closely related to temperature. The accumulation of trehalose would contribute to improving cold-hardiness, and within the range of preservation temperature (0-10℃), the lower the temperature, the higher the trehalose level. Trehalose, however, was not accumulated appreciably in non-diapausing pupae even when they were exposed to 0℃ for a relatively long period, indicating that they were far less cold-hardy. The effect of photoperiod on diapausing pupae was obviously different from that on non-diapausing pupae at 25℃.
