摘　　要：苗木质量对造林成活率和林木初期生长至关重要。快速而又实用地评价出圃苗木的质量是育苗工作者长期追求的目标。Ritche(1984)将最常用的苗木质量评价方法分成两类,即实验法和室外观察法。实验法是将苗木置于特定环境条件下观察其反映,这种方法精度较高,但所需时间较长,并且需要一些昂贵的设备,因此更为常用的还是室外观察法。This study was conducted in Jiangdou, Jiangsu Province from February to December, 1987 to determinate the main indices to appraise the quality of containerized Slash Pine seedling. Two kinds of containers, a dozen of container sizes and five kinds of media were used to raise the seedlings. 11 indices of 1800 seedling samples were measured. By means of principal component analysis, it was concluded that the quality of root ball and seedling weight should be considered as the main indices and seedling height as the supplmentary one for evaluating its quality.
