摘　　要：我国西部地区地域辽阔 ,民族众多 ,文化悠久 ,气候各异 ,地貌百态 ,构成了丰富的体育旅游文化资源和自然资源 ,在西部大开发的大好形势下 ,大力发展体育旅游业 ,通过政府管理 ,社会投资 ,进行产业化、生态化的可持续发展 ,将会促进西部地区的文化、经济进步 。Western China is a very vast territory and is inhabited by many minority nationalities, it has a long history of culture, various climate and multifarious landforms, all these contribute to a rich cultural and natural resources of sport tourism. Under the favorable situations of the open-up of western China, we should devote major efforts to developing sport tourism and carry on the industrialized and ecological sustainable development by means of government administration and investment from society. This will promote culture an economy of western territories and speed up the process of civilization.
