摘　　要：ODL(ObjectDefinitionLanguage)为对象定义语言,是一种用面向对象术语定义数据库结构的标准语言。2000年,对象数据库管理组ODMG公布了对象数据库的标准ODMG3.0,其中包括对定义数据库模式的语言,即ODL的说明。在对ODL作了简要介绍的基础上,对如何使用ODL定义数据库模式进行了说明,对ODL定义的数据库模式的实现进行了简单介绍,并分析了利用ODL为数据库建立模式的优点。ODL, Object Definition Language, is a standard language for defining the database structure with the objectoriented terms. In 2000, ODMG publishes the standard of object database ODMG3.0 that includes the language for defining the database scheme. This paper briefly introduces the Object Definition Language, and illustrates how to use it to define scheme for the database. Moreover, it introduces the implementation of the database scheme defined by ODL and analyses the advantages of using ODL to define the database scheme.
