A Decade of Hard Work Leads to the Fourth Generation of Catalysts

摘　　要：After a decade-long arduous work, CAS scientists succeeded in developing thefourth generation of high-performance catalysts. The research breakthrough was achieved by aresearch team beaded by Prof. Lin Hanfan with the CAS Institute of Chemistry. This work includes anew method concerning the preparation of a nanometallic colloid protected by polymers anddemystification of the secret to raise the working efficacy of metal nanoclusters used as acatalyst. The success lays down a solid foundation for the industrial application of the newcatalysts.
