摘　　要：回顾台湾近30年来的社会变迁及各种政策对水体水质所造成的影响。在迈入21世纪之际,提供一个可持续的水环境是大家共同的愿望,因此,如何平衡经济及科技发展与环境保护间的关系,将是推动台湾水环境可持续发展必经之途。The rapid economic development in Taiwan has resulted in serious environmental pollution and the balance of ecological systems has been destroyed. This paper attempts to review the impact upon water quality brought about by social developments in the past 30 years and its outcomes and phenomena affected by water pollution control policies and related actions. At the turn of the 21st century, a sustainable water environment is the common aspiration of our human community. Therefore, how to balance the enhancement of environmental protection with economic and sic-tech development is the path along which a sustainable Taiwan water environment must advance.
