摘　　要：本文分析了西部地区面临的生态恶化与加快发展的双重挑战,提出超常规的生态经济发展模式,是西部摆脱"脆弱—贫困"恶性循环,实现可持续发展的必由之路。文中重点分析了西部地区发展生态经济模式的战略依据、内涵以及战略途径,并对如何促进西部区域可持续发展提出了对策和政策建议。Based on the in-depth analysis on double challenges of eco-environmental vulnerability and poverty against the development of western China in the new decades,the authors put forward the unconventional sus-tainable development strategy:'eco-economic development strategy',under which western China could break the vicious circle of eco-environmental vulnerability and poverty,and achieving its sustainable development goal.The paper especially discusses the connotation and routes of the eco-economic development strategy.At last,the au-thors give some countermeasures and policy suggestions to promote the sustainable development in western Chi-na.
