美国高校英语教学的主要特点及对我们的启示

摘　　要：美国大学英语教学(TESL)中的最主要特点是:以学生为中心;教学过程中注重培养学生独立思考问题、分析问题和解决问题的能力;注重学生的直接参与、实践及课外学习,尤其是学生的讲座或报告(presentation);重视使用现代化教学手段。我们高校外语教学中在一定的范围内存在教学方法问题的主要原因之一是我们有些外语教师不能把理论真正运用到实际教学中去。The outstanding features of TESL in American universities are that teachers use student-centered methods in their teaching, that they lay stress on cultivating students' ability to think critically and to analyze and solve problems independently, that they pay special attention to students' activities, especially their presentations, and that they make full use of multimedia technology in their courses. In contrast with American universities, one of the main problems in TESL in Chinese colleges and universities is that some teachers fail to put theories into practice.
