摘　　要：较详细地介绍了东风4D型机车装用的铸铁机体 16V2 40ZJD型柴油机主要技术参数、设计、研制与开发过程及 16V2 40ZJD型柴油机铸铁机体在开始运用中所出现的主要故障 。Firstly,this paper introduced the design and development process and the main technical parameters of the 16V240ZJD type diesel engines based on the cast iron engine block,which have been applied on the DF 4 type diesel locomotive;Then it discussed the main fault types properly happened on the cast iron engine block;Finally it put forward some measures to solve the oil leakage fault problem of the cast iron engine block.
