Objective: To test lead level in blood of children with learning difficulty to investigate the relationship of children's intelligence and lead level in blood. Methods: Lead level in blood of 30 children (experimental group) with learning difficulty was measured using atomic absorption spectrophotometry, and then compared with that of 30 top students (control). Results: Lead level in blood of experimental group is 138±28 μg/L, much higher than that of control (92±18 μg/L). Their difference is significant(P<0.01). Conclusions: High level of lead in blood of children with learning difficulty indicates that lead has negative effect on children's intelligence.
