摘　　要：文章阐述了插层化合物的结构性质和物理性质，也说明了插层化合物尤其是石墨插层化合物的广泛的潜在应用．Progress in the research on intercalation compounds during the past ten years is briefly presented. The exotic structural and physical properties of intercalation compounds, in particular, for the graphite intercalation compounds are described with simple physical explanations. Potential applications are also presented.
