摘　　要：GIS技术是一门涵盖多种知识的边缘学科软件工具 ,其运用广泛、效果明显。文中主要描述了GIS技术在国内外林火管理中的应用研究 ,通过建立各种系统模块 ,运用GIS技术进行林火管理辅助设计、林火预测预报、林火探测扑救、损失评估等。GIS技术在不断地发展 。GIS (Geographic Information System) is a new synthetic technique. This paper discusses its current application and research in China and other countries. GIS technique can be used to simulate, prevent, and forecast forest fires, and it can also be used to assess the damage of forest fires. The development of 3S techniques (GIS, RS and GPS) provide more effective method in forest fire management.The auther also discuss the prospect of GIS application in forest fire management.
