摘　　要：“多元现代性”的命题和“回到中国自身”的方法是文化中国学人反思韦伯的主要成果,作为“德国思想与中国现代性”专题研究之一,本文述评中国现代性话语与“韦伯命题”的关联方式,认为需要把作为现代化理论家的韦伯与作为文明比较论者的韦伯统一起来,在多元发展的文明史中理解现代性的多元形态,在现代化的普遍规范中把握不同文明的共同趋势,实现全球化与本土化、普遍价值与特殊形式之间的平衡。Diversity' and 'returning to China itself' are two themes which result from Chinese scholars' reflections on Max Weber. This paper, which is part of the author's research on 'German thoughts and Chinese modernity', attempts to reveal the relatedness between Chinese modernity and the 'Weber thesis'. The author is of the opinion that the combination of Weber the modernity theorist and Weber the civilizations comparatist will enable us to attain a full comprehension of the diversified patterns as well as common trend of different civilizations and to achieve a balance between globalization and universal values on the one hand and localization and special forms on the other.
