West-East GasPipeline Starts Trial Operation

摘　　要：The eastern section of the West-East gas pipeline, which is from Jingbian County in Shaanxi Province to Shanghai, started trial operation on October 1, warming up for the commercial operation of the pipeline slated on January 1, 2004. PetroChina held a grand ceremony to celebrate the trial operation in Jingbian, a major gas production base of PetroChina Changqing Oil Field Company.The eastern section of the West-East gas pipeline, which is from JingbianCounty in Shaanxi Province to Shanghai, started trial operation on October 1, warming up for thecommercial operation of the pipeline slated on January 1, 2004. PetroChina held a grand ceremony tocelebrate the trial operation in Jingbian, a major gas, production base of PetroChina Changqing OilField Company. Jingbian is planned to supply gas to the pipeline before being replaced by Tarimbasin as the gas source in the beginning of 2005 when the western section, from Lunnan in XinjiangAutonomous region to Jingbian, is hooked up with the Jingbian-Shanghai section.
