Objective To study the effect of Taohongsiwu Decoction (THSWD) to the expression level of VEGF of callus tissue in the bone stump and the healthing of fracture. Methods 65 Japanese rabbits were divided into four groups randomly, three groups were given orally with THSWD, Yandining tablet, distilled water respectively after the right radial bone fracture model was established by operation, the other group was normal group. At the 7th, 15th, 21th and 35th day after fracture, we took the X-ray film on the extremities of fracture and decalified the bone stumps as spicemen in every group above, the methods of immunohischemistry were used to detect the expression level of VEGF in the callus tissue of bone stump, then we compared and analyzed the data by measurement. Result The expression of VEGF in THSWD invervening group was higher than other groups. THSWD could make the decrease of expression was not obvious after the peak value at the 15th day, it could accelerate the blood swelling absorption and make the growth and remodeling of the callus are better than other groups. Conclusion THSWD can could improve the expression level of VEGF of callus tissue in bone stump, accelerate blooding swelling absorption and promote the growth and remodeling of the callus, promote the healthing of fracture.
