This paper aims to introduce some methods for treating wastewater containing surfactants LAS, such as foamet, coagulative precipitation, bio-contact oxidation process and so on. In conformity with the ultimate aim of the wastewater LAS treatment, the methods here introduced can be divided into destructive ones (such as barrier separation) and non-destructive ones (such as microelectrolysis). By analyzing and evaluating every method, a conclusion has been arrived as to the methods that the treating methods can be chosen from the point of view of recycling and completing oxidation decomposition. For example, Chen Yuli had studied the way of bio-contacting oxidation treatment of wastewater from synthetic detergent. The results show that the sewage can successfully be treated by this process, with the removing rate of COD_(Cr) as high as being 80%-87%. The volumetric loading COD_(Cr) has been worked out as 3.5-5.3 kg COD_(Cr)/m^3·d. While synthetic detergent is highly useful in daily life, industrial and agricultural production, the main pollution LAS may affect the characteristics of industrial wastewater and sanitary wastewater mixed with other pollutions. Also, LAS in water can reduce the speed rate of transferring oxygen. However, when the wastewater was treated by joining bio-contact oxidation with chemical flocculation, the total removing rate of COD_(Cr) can be raised to 96%, which suggests a great potentiality of combined use of the methods destructiveness and non-destructiveness.
