摘　　要：张祖刚,1956年毕业于清华大学建筑系,随后在建工部城市设计研究院工作。1965年调至中国建筑学会工作至今。从1984年起任建筑学会副秘书长、秘书长兼《建筑学报》主编,现任该会副理事长。此期间,除组织参加国内外建筑科学前沿课题学术活动发挥其导向与交流作用外,还对国内外历史文化名城、建筑文化、生态园林如何融和、发展问题进行了专题研究。编著了《中国传统民居建筑》、《世界园林发展概论》等图书六部,在国内外学术会议、大学和刊物上发表了学术论文50余篇,提出了具有引导性的观点。这时期,兼任中国科协工科联合会常务委员、大学教授;任1999年北京国际建筑师协会第20届大会科学委员会秘书长;筹建中国科学技术期刊编辑学会,为该学会创始人之一,后连任三届编辑学会副理事长,获这一学会颁发的“金牛奖”。A day in early spring, Professor Zhang accepts interview.
