摘　　要：在考察了“文明”的流行含义和词义的渊源流变后 ,认为“文明”应该是指人类在争得自身解放过程中改造自然、改造社会的总成果 ,是人类文化发展到高级阶段的产物 ,是人类文化的重要组成部分。人类文明史 ,实际上就是人类关于思索和创造更好“保护人、尊重人”After the study of the popular implication of “civilization” and its semantic origin and change, it is argued that civilization is the total result gained through human transformations of nature and society in the process of human's struggle for its own liberation, the product when human culture develops towards the advanced stage, and the important component of human culture. The history of human civilization is in fact the history of human's contemplation of the creation of ways and systems to better protect and respect human beings.
