摘  要:一些民营企业为什么选择“卖掉”而不是继续“做大”?看看三笑的故事吧。Sanxiao Group, one of the 'four star enterprises' in the Yangzhou City, is now more interesting in talking about their new products, such as mosquito repellent incense, shoe polish, feminine napkins and air-cleaning chemicals. And the Sanxiao brand toothbrush, which held the biggest share of the Chinese market, is no longer their topic. Half a year ago, it sold all its 30% shares of Colgate-Sanxiao-a joint venture it set up with Colgate-to Colgate Palmolive. It also sold to Colgate Palmolive the right to use the toothbrush brand for 50 years. You will soon see no Sanxiao toothbrush on selves in supermarkets. However, the voice of Han Guoping, who is Chairman & founder of Sanxiao Group and spoke loudly on a conference organized by the Jiangsu Provincial Government in 1998, still sounds very clear: I just do not believe that Chinese people had to use the toothbrushes foreigners made! I will go all out to fight for national industries! At that time, Colagte was trying to negotiate with Sanxiao and buy its toothbrush business. Two years later, Han 'married' Sanxiao to Colgate in 2000-to set up Colgate-Sanxiao, the joint venture with Colgate. The sale of the 30% stock in November, 2003, meant that he has totally abandoned Sanxiao, the toothbrush brand on which he had been working hard for a decade.
