摘　　要：　连词"而"是古汉语中使用频率最高的虚词之一。主谓之间"而"的用法表现在三个方面:一、"而"连接的句子的主语和谓语表现为句子的话题和述题;二、"而"所连接的成分之间可以发生多种语义关系,但这些语义关系不是由"而"承担,而是由其所连接成分之间的关系决定的;三、"而"除了起连接作用外,还表示一定的语气。The conjunction “而' is one of the function words which is most frequently used in Ancient Chinese. “而' between the subject and the predicate has three uses: 1) The subject and the predicate in the sentence linked by “而' is used to express a topic and a statement in the sentence; 2)The parts linked by “而' can occur with various semantic relationships, in which they are not undertaken by “而', but determined by the relationships between the parts linked by “而'; 3) In addition to its use as a conjunction, “而' can denote a definite mood.
