摘　　要：数据库建设是图书馆自动化网络化管理的基础 .书目数据库是图书馆最基本的数据库 .高校图书馆在建设书目数据库的基础上建设专题数据库 ,为读者提供方便快捷的专题检索服务 ,是图书馆自动化建设中的又一课题 .文章阐述了建设专题数据库的必要性及建库方法 ,介绍了曲靖师范学院拟建专题数据库的选题原则。The library database construction is the foundation of library automatic and network management. For a library, the bibliographical database is the most essential one, on the very basis of the construction of which college libraries just set up an another topic on the construction of special-topic databases aiming to provide a quick-convenient special-topic service for the information users. The article not only has explained the necessity and the method of the database construction , but also has introduced the principles, the metadata descriptive elements and the indexing method of the planned special-topic database construction of the very practical library.
