摘　　要：The Archaeology of the Daihai Area (I) is an excavation report compiled by the Inner Mongolian Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology. It describes the data unearthed from five sites of the Laohushan culture. As the remains of these sites are mainly house foundations, the book provides important material for the study of settlement archaeology. Featuring objectivity, fullness and accurate-ness in statement and excellence in organization, with the vestiges introduced along with the objects they yielded, the report ensures the complete and systematic publication of the unearthed data. In the final conclusion, it studies synthetically the whole aspect of each of the settlements and their relationship.
