Pelvic floor dysfunction (PFD) is a category of disorders that can lead to difficulties in urination and defecation, pelvic organ prolapse (POP), sexual dysfunction, and pelvic pain. With the ongoing increase in the aging population of China and the recent relaxation of the three-child policy, the incidence of these diseases is rising annually. Although PFD does not pose a direct threat to life, it can cause feelings of inferiority and depression in patients, severely impacting their mental health and quality of life. After treatment, the incidence of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse among patients has decreased. This article aims to discuss the latest therapeutic advancements in pelvic floor dysfunction.
