摘 要:近年来,学界对英语专业工具性和人文性的定位颇有争议,实现二者的有机结合似乎是一个难以达成的目标。新一轮英语类专业教育改革背景下,高校英语专业阅读教学在达成基本技能和人文情感并重的培养目标中责任重大。本文围绕新的文本细读理论,对2012年The Best American Essays中的一篇文章The Good Short Life进行语言结构以及人文性细读,并探索人文性在英语专业阅读文本中的体现。创新后的文本细读理论应用于高校英语专业人文阅读,使学生既能掌握文本语言与结构层面的阅读技巧,又能激活学生的知识、经验、情感和思想,由此引发思想对话和碰撞。In recent years, the orientation of the instrumental and humanistic English major has been dis-puted, and it seems that it is difficult to achieve an organic combination of them. Under the back-ground of a new round of educational reform for English major, reading teaching for English majors in colleges and universities has a great responsibility in achieving the training goal of paying equal attention to basic skills and humanistic feelings. Focusing on the new close reading theory, this paper makes a close reading of the language structure and humanity of an article. The Good Short Life, in The Best American Essays in 2012, and explores the embodiment of humanism in reading materials for English majors. The innovative close reading theory is applied to humanistic reading of English majors, which enables students not only to master reading skills at the level of language and structure, but also to activate students’ knowledge, experience, emotion and thoughts, which leads to ideological dialogue and collision.
