葛译《丰乳肥臀》中的交际语境顺应分析

摘　　要：翻译是语言间传意达意的过程,所有的翻译活动都不能在真空的环境下进行,意义的传达受语境制约,意义的生成由语境约束。语言是任何信息产生的载体,语境则是促使这类信息得以交流的先决条件,对于翻译中语境条件的正确理解和传达可以直接促进交流,亦可直接阻碍交流。语言的翻译实质上是文化的翻译,译文的生成实质上是它的读者解读对应语境和寻求价值认同的过程。本文从语境顺应论的观点出发,从语境关系顺应角度具体分析葛译《丰乳肥臀》中的交际语境顺应,提出译文为传达特定的交际效果,其语言的选择要顺应不同的语境关系。译者,作为语言交流间的实现主体,其翻译过程,就是为获得相应的交际效果从而在动态选择语言表现手段的行为中实现语境顺应的过程,这个过程要充分考虑与交际无法剥离的文化因素,将不同文化主体之间的相互理解及包容最大化。在《丰乳肥臀》的译文中,译者对源语内部的交际语境因素进行了深入理解,在读者的文化认知中对这些语境因素予以显化翻译,最大程度上做出顺应,力求实现良好的交际效果。Translation is a process of conveying meaning between languages. All translation activities cannot be carried out in a vacuum environment. That is to say, the transmission of meaning is achieved through context, and the generation of meaning is restricted by the context as well. Language is the reflection of all kinds of information, and it is an important prerequisite for the transformation of such kind of information. The correct understanding and transmission of context correlates in translation can directly promote or hinder communication. Language is closely related to culture at all time, therefore, the translation of a language is essentially the translation of its culture, and the generation of translation is essentially the process in which the target readers interpret the corresponding context in their own cultural background and seek to value identification. This paper, from the perspective of contextual adaptation theory, aims to analyze the adaptation of communicative context in Howard Goldblatt’s translation of Big Breasts and Wide Hips from the perspective of contextual correlates adaptation, and proposes that the choice of language should conform to different contextual correlates in order to achieve specific communicative effects. As the main participator of the communication between the two languages, the translator’s main task is to maximize the corresponding understanding and promote mutual communication considering the cultural backgrounds so as to realize the contextual adaptation in the dynamic choice of language expressions. In the translation of Big Breasts and Wide Hips, the translator has a deep understanding of the contextual factors in the source language, makes explicit translation of these contextual factors in the reader’s cultural cognition, applies adaptation to the maximized extent and strives to achieve good communicative effect.
