摘　　要：本文通过对翻译本质的深入探讨,总结了翻译学者对其定义和理解的多样性,并发现当前翻译研究主要集中在翻译策略和技巧,而对翻译本质的研究相对欠缺。本文以翻译理论为基础,强调了翻译的历史性、发展性和时代性,认为翻译的定义需要随着时代的发展而不断演变。在研究设计中,笔者采用了文献综述的方法,综合研究了近二十年关于翻译本质的文献,充分总结了当前翻译学者对翻译本质的定义。翻译不仅仅是语言层面的转换,还需考虑文化交流、跨学科合作和技术发展等多方面因素,同时翻译的定义应随着时代的变化而不断演进,以适应新的社会环境和需求,更好地指导翻译实践。This article delves into the nature of translation, summarizing the diverse definitions and under-standings by scholars in the field. It observes that current translation research predominantly fo-cuses on strategies and techniques, leaving a gap in the exploration of translation’s nature. Grounded in translation theory, the paper emphasizes the historical, developmental, and temporal aspects of translation, asserting that the definition of translation should evolve with the changing times. The research design adopts a literature review approach, synthesizing studies from the past two decades on the essence of translation. The conclusion drawn is that translation involves more than linguistic conversion;it encompasses cultural exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, tech-nological advancements, and various other factors. The definition of translation should dynamically evolve to align with the era’s transformations, addressing new societal contexts and demands, thereby providing better guidance for translation practices.
