王安忆小说英译本比较研究——以《小城之恋》和《长恨歌》为例

摘　　要：王安忆的小说自20世纪80年代被译介到西方,在英语世界受到持续关注,这不仅与作品内容有关,而且与翻译密不可分,其中译者的翻译方法起到重要的作用。本文选取孔慧怡翻译的《小城之恋》和白睿文、陈毓贤合译的《长恨歌》进行对比分析,在二十年的时间跨度里比较两部小说在语言类本源概念、物质类本源概念、人称和句式等方面的翻译及其变化,并考查不同翻译方法背后的原因,以期为中国现当代文学作品的外译提供有益的经验和借鉴。Since Wang Anyi’s novels were translated to the West in the 1980s,they have attracted continuous attention in the English-speaking world,which were not only related to the content of the works,but also closely related to the translation,in which the translator’s translation strategy plays an important role.The paper selects the Love in a Small Town which was translated by Eva Hung in 1988 and Te Song of Everlasting Sorrow which was translated by Michael Berry and Susan Chan Egan in 2008.In order to provide useful experience and reference for the spread of modern and contemporary Chinese literary works,the paper compares the translation and the changes of two novels in language class origin concept,material source translation,person and sentence patterns in a span of 20 years,and examines the reasons behind the different translation methods.
