Exploration of the Application Effect of Orem Self-care Model in Elderly Diabetes Care

摘　　要：Objective: to explore the application effect of Orem self-care model in elderly diabetes care. Methods: from November 2019 to October 2021, 70 elderly patients with diabetes in our hospital were randomly divided into 35 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing, and the observation group received Orem self-nursing mode intervention on the basis of routine nursing. Results: the blood glucose level of the observation group was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). The self-protection ability and self-management level of observation group were higher than control group (P<0.05). The quality of life in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of diabetes-related complications in observation group was lower than that in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: the application of Orem self-care model in the nursing of elderly diabetes patients can improve patients' self-care ability, self-management ability and living standard, and reduce the incidence of related complications.
