The present assessment of mineral resource potentiality is based on resource assessment theory, assessment criteria, geographical information system (GIS), Mineral Resource Assessment System (MRAS) and corresponding data information system. The resource assessment theory consists of the theory of localization of deposits from facies differences between various geological objectives, the theory of analogy of prognosticated analogous deposits and the theory of seeking commonness and differences of ore-forming information. Criteria of delimitation of useful prospective areas of mineral resources include maximum ore—generating potentiality on the minimum area (i. e. minimum risk and maximum prospect effect), optimum assessment and comprehensive assessment on a reciprocal scale. -The assessment of mineral resources is put into practice by means of MRAS and on the basis of information system consisting of geological, geophysical, geochemical and remote sensing data and on GIS platform. The core of the present assessment of mineral resource potentiality is extraction, concentration, optimization and combination of ore —forming information, and demarcation of information on prospecting criteria. Erudite specialists rich in experiences are the guarantee of performance of the assessment of mineral resource potentiality, while complete and useful geological data are prerequisite to carry out the assessment of mineral resource potentiality.
