英语写作时长、字数与文章质量关系之调查

摘　　要：本研究采用社会科学统计软件对非英语专业学生英语写作文本进行统计分析,调查英语写作时长、字数与写作质量之间的关系。调查发现,时长与字数对英语写作质量有重大影响。在限时作文条件下,40分钟是比较理想的写作时长,140字是比较合理的文本长度。时长与字数对英语写作的影响具体表现在对语言的准确度、复杂度以及文章内容等几个方面。This study, based on the SPSS analysis of the writings by non-English majors, tries to find out the influences of time allotment and word limit on English writing qualities. The result shows that time allotment and word limit do affect greatly the writing quality, to be exact and precise, on accuracy, complexity, and the content. The survey reveals that 40 minutes is the best time allotment and 140 words are the optimal word limit for the timed writing.
