Objective To investigate the advantages of multi-tumor marker protein chip assistance diagnostic system for screening over 5 kinds of cancers and the its specificity and sensitivity in detection of non-cancer subjects and healthy persons. Methods The serum levels of 12 common tumor markers ,including CA199、NSE、CEA、CA242、CA125、CA153、AFP、Ferritin、free-PSA、PSA、β-HCG and HCH ,were measured with the detective system in 500 malignant tumor patients,150 patients with benign disease and 1 600 healthy examinations .Results The positve rates were in malignant tumor, benign disease and healthy groups, respectively. The malignant tumor group had significantly higher positve rate than that of the controls. The sensitivity of the multi-tumor marker protein chip assistance diagnostic system was higher in detection of the 12 tumor markers than that in detection of a single tumor marker and its specificity in detection of healthy persons was 95%. And the tumor -detecting rate during health check-up was 0.2%. Conclusions Combined measurement of multiple serum tumor markers using protein biochip technique can significantly increase the diagnostic sensitivity for malignant tumor, but also can be used as an earlier period tumor surveying tool to symptomless people, especially to high risk people .
