摘　　要：本文首先谈了语类研究的历史发展和目前研究的概况,然后根据马丁发表的13篇有关语类的论文,对他的语类研究现状和成果进行概述,最后概括了马丁语类研究的动因和三个阶段。马丁语类研究可总结为"一个源泉,两个动因"。一个源泉是他在加拿大读本科和做研究生时受到格里高利的语境理论的影响和熏陶,对语言和语境有了自己的理解和认识;两个动因分别是理论动因——发展系统功能语言学理论,和实践动因——完善写作教学。马丁语类研究的三个阶段分别是:初期认识阶段,语类的模式化阶段和深入研究阶段。The article mainly gives a brief survey of and comment on the study of genre by James R.Martin.First,it presents the history and the present state of the art in genre study,and then,it briefly introduces Martin’s own studies on genre and his achievements in genre study.Finally,it shows the motivation and the three stages of Martin’s genre study.The motivation is summarized as "one source and two motives".The one source is the influence and effect of Micheal Gregory’s contextual theory on him in his undergra...
