摘　　要：利玛窦是晚明时代的公众人物,其二十几种中文称谓广泛分布在经、史、子、集各部文献中。这些称谓寓意不一,褒贬互见,体现了使用者的思想情绪和政治态度。频频出现的利玛窦名称字号已逐渐异化为表征西学的文化符号,私属意义闇而不彰。Matteo Ricci is a popular figure during the late Ming Dynasty.There are more than 20 Chinese names in all sorts of historical literatures of the late Ming Dynasty.These Chinese names of Matteo Ricci which contain different meanings including praise and disdaining reflected the users feelings and attitude.The Matteo Ricci s Chinese names which appear frequently in historical literatures of the late Ming Dynasty became gradually cultural symbols of learning West,and lost its original meaning.
