Objective To study serum levels and their clinical significance of platelet microparticle(PMP) in transient ischemic attacks(TIA)patients. To know the impact of calcium channel blockers(CCB) on the PMP levels of TIA patients. Methods The serum levels of PMP,CD 62P and GPⅡb/Ⅲa were detected and compared between TIA group consisting of 80 patients and control group consisting of 80 health persons. The PMP,CD 62P and GPⅡbⅢa levels of 29 TIA patients who have evolved to cerebral infarction were detected and compared to the PMP,CD 62P and GPⅡb/Ⅲa levels of 51 TIA patients who haven't got infarction. The PMP levels of 26 TIA patients who were given CCB were detected and compared to the PMP levels of 25 patients who haven't take CCB. Results Compared with the control, the serum levels of PMP,CD 62P and GPⅡb/Ⅲa were higher in TIAs,and the higher the levels were, the more likely to evolve to infarction. The PMP levels of patients who had been given 14 days treatment of CCB were obviously lower than the level in those who had't taken CCB. Conclusion Platelet is activated in TIAs.Testing the serum levels of PMP helps to predict the outcomes of TIAs.CCB helps to reduce the PMP levels of TIA patients.
