摘　　要：多元文化主义是当代美国文化的一大特色。多元文化主义的主要观点是承认美国文化的多元性,反对将白人主流文化定于一尊,承认和尊重少数族裔及其文化,尊重社会中妇女、同性恋者等弱势群体的社会权力,平等对待美国文化中的各种文化成份。在多元文化主义思潮的影响下,以前被排除在新闻视野之外的少数族裔正得到美国新闻媒介的日益关注和报道。美国媒介生态中的文化、政治和经济等多方面因素促成了大众传媒对多元文化主义思潮的传播。Multiculturalism is one of the features of contemporary American culture.It mainly advocates the diversity of American culture and opposes to the white mainstream culture.Other advocated ideas include recognition and respect for the minority and its culture,respect for women,gays and vulnerable groups as social powers,equal treatment to various cultural ingredients in American society.Under the influence of Multiculturalism,minority,previously excluded from the sight of the news,is getting more and more attention from the American news media.The culture,political,economic factors and other various factors in American media ecology also facilitate the American mass media to spread the multiculturalism in America.
