英语标准音、标音法及Gimson体系

摘　　要：本义围绕Gimson音标体系（EnglishPronouncingDictionary，14thEdition，1977）的产生，对英语标准音的发展和变化以及标音方法的演变等进行了历时性的探讨，重申了Gimson的标音体系取代Jones体系的必要性。文章着重比较了这两种体系在标音方法上的不同，旨在帮助我国广大英语学习者和教师熟悉了解该体系并正确使用它，以达到尽快在我国各类英语教学中推广的目的。This paper makes a diachronic study of the evolution of defining the standard pronunciation of English and tWo major notation systems in IPA. The author advocates that it is necessary to replace the Jones' notation system with Gimson's since the latter is the manifestation of correct and updated pronunciation of English, 'received' by the native speakers in the present society and also widely accepted by TESL researchers. The learners and teachers of English in China should know how to utilize it in our practical work and to accelerate the popularization of the new system in our country.
