A quite number of scholars in the Western World, especially in the United States, believe that the financial crisis crushed the “Asian Mode'. Chinese scholars also hold various views. This article believes that the basic characteristics of the Asian Mode still exist after the financial crisis. East Asian wonder can not be erased. Nor can the Asian Mode that created the wonder be denied. Its advantages and disadvantages should be appraised in a historical, comprehensive and comparative way in methodology. Compared with European and American modes, that of East Asian was in a primitive stage. It is in a normal state within which various problems should appear. Only after many renewals or regeneration can it gradually be grown into a ripe stage. The East Asian Mode should be carefully appraised after the financial crisis, but should be analyzed case by case. The success story of those countries that stood the test of the crisis should be summarized, lessons for those which were subject to severe costs in the crisis should be drawn. Some experience, for instance “the large group enterprise mode' of Korean that once was considered as one of the East Asian Modes should be corrected and discarded. Whatever the case, we should not deny the fact that the Korean mode also has its positive aspect. We should not dump gold together with dirty water.
