摘　　要：19世纪 30年代 ,美国第一批新教传教医生来到了广州口岸 ,开始了以医疗活动为手段 ,以传教为目的的“医学传教”历程。传教士的医学活动取得可喜的成果 ,促进了西医学在华传播 ,也促进了广州西医业的兴起。但是 ,医学和传教相结合的关系却逐渐开始松驰、淡化 。In 1830s, the first American protestant missionary doctors arrived at Guangzhou port, starting the course of “medical missions”, which is actually to carry out missionary work by means of medical activities. Such missionary medical activities made great achievements, and also promoted the spread of Western medicine in China and the rise of Western medicine in Guangzhou. However, the combination of medicine and missions was gradually loosened, and they even began to separate from each other.
