摘　　要：计划于１９９８年出版的《英汉大词典补编》主要收录本世纪６０年代以来的英语新词、新义和新用法，反映英语国家语言和文化的新发展，并弥补《英汉大词典》收词方面的缺漏。第一册计划收录约３０００词条，其中三分之一来自从英美报刊中采集的第一手资料，三分之二取材于英美最新出版的新词词典以及报刊中的新词观察追踪专栏。Supplement to the English Chinese Dictionary (Unabridged), scheduled to be published in 1998,will include over 3,000 entries of new words, new meanings and new usages. Aside from the second hand materials from recently published English new word dictionaries and word watch columns in newspapers and magazines, a sizable computerized citation file has been set up to supply one third of the entry words and quoted examples. The Supplement will fully reflect the new developments in language and culture of the English speaking countries and make up for the omissions in the English Chinese Dictionary (Unabridged).
