摘　　要：战后四十多年来,西欧一直是世界上潜在的最大热点。尽管如此,它与亚非拉诸地区相比,又一直比较平静,是战后唯一没有发生战争的"和平绿洲"。今天,它正以独特的政治风貌出现在世界政治舞台上,引起了人们极大的兴趣。纵观八十年代以来,特别是近年来西欧的政治发展,其政局具有五大特点。一、形势紧张,政局平稳雅尔塔会议之后,欧洲被一分为二,美苏各霸一方,都在各自的"领地"Reviewing the political developments of Western Europe in the 80s, five features can be summed up as follows. The overall political stability can not be altogether free from tension. Prevalent as nationalism is today in Western Europe. 'European Concept' is yet to take shape with European Union still progressing at snail's pace. Left-wing forces have become very much divided amidst turbulence while conservative thinking is making its comeback with new momentum. When politics is turning pluralistic ideological development is at the ebb. Slow economic growth is coupled with high-rate unemployment. Last of all, there will appear a strong tendency for non-cleague activities and for a breakthrough so far as defence cooperation is concerned in Western Europe.
