摘　　要：依据哥特式小说的定义,分别对小说《呼啸山庄》的背景、人物、故事情节以及象征主义在作品中的应用等方面进行认真的研读与细致的剖析,展现作者深受哥特式的影响以及这部小说中所呈现出的典型哥特式特征。Based on the definition of'Gothic novel',a careful study and detailed analysis is made on the novel Wuthering Heights,especially on the aspects in setting,characters,plots and symbolism in the novel Wuthering Heights and then a natural conclusion is that the author was influenced by the Gothic and there are so many typical Gothic characters presented in the novel.
